World’s first driveable deckchair hits Brighton beach

Sun seeking just got a whole lot easier, as
some clever clogs has invented the world’s first driveable deck chair. The machine was unveiled at Brighton Beach
in front of hundreds of holidaymakers, who were green with envy, under their red from
sunburn. Commissioned by car hire comparison site Holiday
Autos, the Ultimate Deck Chair was designed by artist Solomon Rogers to combat common
seaside complaints. So we got really lucky to work with Holiday
Autos to bring the Ultimate Deck Chair to the British beaches this summer. The best
thing about this thing is we’ve tried to kind of take a few of the issues that we may have
on different beaches and you give a vehicle that will take you around. The first thing
is we need to move the vehicle around the beach, so we thought we’d build it on a fully
drivable platform and we can take it from beach to beach. The chair allows sun-seekers to find the perfect
place on the sand without the worry of actually having to set up your deck chair when you
get there because they’re fiddly things, aren’t they? It also features an on-board parasol
to save your poor skin cells. This high-tech brolly is rigged with a GPS tracker that can
follow the movement of the sun and provide shade from whatever angle. There are also
retractable towels, sun-cream, drinks and book holders, a stereo system, portable sandpit
and a refrigerated slushy machine – although the posey modely types apparently aren’t included.
Shame.
