Cow Wedding: Sacred Cow And Bull Are Married In India

Cow Wedding: Sacred Cow And Bull Are Married In India

COMM: It had all the hallmarks of a lavish Indian wedding, but when 5,000 well-wishers
gathered for a traditional Hindu ceremony, in Western India this week, the bride and
groom were in fact a cow and a bull. 00:15
COMM: Nuptials between cow Ganga and bull Prakash had been organised by village elders
in the hope that it would bless them with a good harvest. 00:43
COMM: More than £10,000 was donated by three villages to pay for the big event held near
Indore in Madya Pradesh. Both animals were dressed in expensive robes, with all the traditional
rituals performed for the couple to be. And like any other married couple Ganga and Prakash
are expected to be faithful, and
start a family. 01:23
COMM: After weeks of preparation, there was joyous celebration when the marriage was finally
declared. But only time will tell if their union will save the harvest.

  1. So it's just a harvest festival, and like most, they have some legendary or mythical excuse but basically people just want to get together and feast and party and hope for a bountiful harvest.

  2. I've come to the conclusion that the producers of this channel don't even need to bother with traveling the world to find weird shit. Just plop your ass down in an Indian village and you'll be good to go.

  3. There is millions of Indian who is in need for money and food then those fucking idiot spend this money for cow wedding !! Come on

  4. animals can b sources of meat for ppl but they cant b respected and worshipped…either respect ppl views nd traditions or keepng lol..but atleast dnt abuse them…!!

  5. People need food, health and education. ¿Is there a good reason to espend so much money in this "lavish Indian wedding."?

  6. I do not mind their spiritual or religious beliefs themselves, but I'm somewhat bothered by the idea of spending so much money on a ceremony instead of using it to improve infrastructure or facilities in a way that if the natural disasters they seek to avoid/prevent occur, the damage can be mitigated.  It doesn't seem practical.  As far as their religion/spirituality, I think it's fine to believe whatever they do, but they should really try to be more practical about it…

  7. لانهم يحسبونها الرب حقهم ٌ{الحمد لله على نعمه الاسلام}
