Chinese President Xi Jingping meets Queen on UK visit


Chinese President Xi Jingping has begun his
four-day state visit to Britain. Mr Xi and his wife, Peng Liyuan, were officially
welcomed this afternoon by the Queen and Prime Minister during a ceremony at Horse Guards
Parade in London. Her Majesty and Mr Xi travelled together in
a procession along The Mall to Buckingham Palace, where a State Banquet will be held
later tonight. The President also addressed a gathering of
politicians at the Houses of Parliament. The State Visit will continue tomorrow when
President Xi holds a meeting with Prime Minister David Cameron at 10 Downing Street.
