>>>SOON-TO-BE BEMIDJI SENIOR AUSTYN TOBEY WILL BE COMPETING IN THE NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL FINALS RODEO COMPETITION NEXT WEEK IN ROCK SPRING, WYOMING, HER SIXTH TIME COMPETING ON THE NATIONAL STAGE AND HER THIRD TIME COMPETING IN THE HIGH SCHOOL COMPETITION.>>TOBEY WILL BE COMPETING IN FOUR EVENTS, BARREL RACING, POLE BENNING, CUTTING — BENDING CUTTING AND BREAKWAY ROPING AFTER QUALIFYING IN THE RODEO FINALS LAST MONTH. RIDING IS A PASSION FOR HER, ONE SHE’S HAD THROUGH HER LIFE.>>I HAVE BEEN RIDING FOREVER. THROUGH MY MOM AND FAMILY, WE HAVE ALWAYS BEEN AROUND HOUSES SO IT IS NATURAL FOR ME TO RIDE HORSES. I LOVE IT. IT IS MY PASSION. I LOVE BEING AROUND THE HORSES AND MY FRIENDS.>>THERE ISN’T A LARGE HIGH SCHOOL RODEO COMMUNITY IN NORTHERN MINNESOTA BUT TOBEY SAYS SHE HAS A CLOSE BOND WITH RIDERS ACROSS THE STATE WHO SHE WILL COMPETE ALONGSIDE NEXT WEEK.>>OUR MINNESOTA FAMILY IS SUPER CLOSE. WE ARE ALL THE SAME.>>OUR CLOSEST BOND ARE HER HORSE.>>I CALL THEM MY BEST FRIENDS ALL THE TIME.
